LIGHTING REVIEW FOR PLANNING
APPLICATIONS & DISCHARGE OF CONDITIONS

planning by cencode

A good lighting design means an outdoor lighting installation is being adequately controlled to prevent light pollution and nuisance during night-time. This could be a resident’s sleep disturbed by light shining into a bedroom window, our view of the night sky being blinded by sky glow, glare (the uncomfortable intensity brightness of a light source) and impact on nocturnal wildlife such as bats, or adversely affect fauna & flora, not to mention the potential for wasted energy and increase in carbon emissions. We work with local authority planning officers, housing developers and architects to assess and minimise potential effects of obtrusive light from outdoor lighting and ensure compliance to permissible tolerances of GN01/20 and CIE 150: 2017.
