Chancellor Ms. Reeves announces the government's key initiatives:

The change in political power at Westminster promises significant changes in the UK housing market, and if promises are to believed, then well over a million new house builds and major infrastructure projects are to be built.The new government has confirmed plans to reinstate compulsory house-building targets and overhaul Britain's planning system, aiming to construct 1.5 million new homes over the next five years. This comes after the previous government had reduced mandatory house-building targets and revised the National Policy Planning Framework (NPPF).


Chancellor Ms. Reeves announces the government's key initiatives:


Restore mandatory house-building targets.

Build 1.5 million homes by the end of this parliament, including affordable and council homes.

Lift the ban on onshore wind farms.

Establish a new task force to accelerate stalled housing projects.

Support local authorities with 300 additional planning officers nationwide.

Review previously rejected planning applications that could benefit the economy.

Prioritise brownfield and greybelt land for development to meet housing targets when necessary.

Reform the planning system to "deliver the infrastructure that our country needs."

Outline new policy intentions for critical infrastructure in the coming months.
